Education is one of the strongest predictors of future career success, upward mobility, and health. But underresourced schools, poverty, and toxic stress (like abuse, neglect, and other violence) hinder the ability of the most at-risk students to learn and succeed, perpetuating the cycle of poverty and violence that affects us all.

Through tutoring, creative writing workshops, and collaborative projects, YourWords STL empowers these young people to overcome their situation and the trauma they’ve experienced, find their voice, and share their stories in order to thrive.

But we need your help.
